Abstract

This page explains how to customize warp point menus, such as how to move and insert warp point menu items.

[Step 1] the Warp Menu Edit windowb΃jJb

In the Browsing window, select the Edit Warp Point menu item from the Warp menu; the Warp Menu Edit window appears.

This window shows the hierarchy of the menu items available in the lower part of the Warp menu using a directory tree structure. Icon 1shown in Fig.(Warp Menu Icon) represents a single warp point menu item while icon 2represents a sub-menu ( warp group). A sub-menu can be expanded by clicking the triangle mark to the left of the sub-menu title, allowing the menu items below it to be edited.

[Step 3] Changing Warp Point Menu Positions

Positions of warp point menus in the window are basically changed via cut and paste. Cut the warp point to be moved ( Fig.(Cutting Origin) ), select the menu above the destination where the item should be moved to ( Fig.(Pasting on Destination) ) and select Paste ( Fig.(Result of Pasting) ).

If the destination where the item should be moved to is at the top of a sub-menu or at the top of the entire menu, select the separator bar above the desired location and paste it there ( Fig.(Selecting Separator Bar and Pasting) , Fig.(Result of Pasting) ).

[Step 4] Saving Warp Point Menus

Simply click the Close box of the Warp Menu Edit window to save the changes. A dialog similar to Fig.(Save Confirmation Dialog) appears; select the Save button or press the Return ( Enter) key to close the window. If you only wish to save the menus without closing the window, select the Save menu item from the File menu.

[Step 5] Creating New Sub-menus (Warp Groups)

To create a warp group, select the New Warp Group menu item from the Warp menu. Then, an "Untitled" warp group is created. To specify the position where the group is generated in advance, select a menu, warp group or deparator positioned immediately above the position in advance and then select the menu ( Fig.(New Warp Group) ).

[Step 6] Detail Settings of Warp Menu

If you select a warp point menu and click the Details button on at the upper right corner of the Warp Menu Edit window, the detailed information of the warp point menu is displayed ( Fig.(Detailed Information Panel (Basic Items/Coordinates)) , Fig.(Detailed Information Panel (Search Conditions)) ).

Figure Detailed Information Panel (Search Conditions)

All the information acquired when a warp point menu is generated and required at warping, including its title and type, is shown in this panel. Information is arranged such that the list of basic items is placed at the top, followed by the setting of showing/hiding coordinates, and search conditions are placed at the bottom.

The "*" mark placed between the Item and Value columns for basic items indicates that the corresponding item can be edited. However, we do not recommend that you edit the coordinate values displayed in this panel unless you have sufficient knowledge about coordinate systems to predict the results of your actions. However, it is helpful to select whether to show or hide the coordinates, when replacing the coordinate system of the menu at the generation with the coordinate system displayed after jumping. Editing search conditions is also useful. You can edit conditions you no longer need, or hide them temporarily.

[ATTENTION] After editing an item, click any area other than the currently selected menu in the menu list panel on the left side of the Warp Menu Edit window to commit your changes.
The result of editing is saved in the same way as in "Saving Warp Point Menus".

[Step 7] Network Warp Group Menu

The Network Warp Group menu shows sub-menus of the location displayed next to the Menu Link ( URL) item as shown in Fig.(Network Warp Group Menu) . If you change the URL, warp point menus on the network are referenced. Moreover, the Network Warp Group menu contains Unload and Open buttons. If you click the Unload button, currently cached warp groups are cleared. If you click the Open button, COSMOS connects to the network and sets up a new warp group.
